The B & B Sardinia Cagliari you want to know the Gulf of Cagliari, also known as the Gulf of Cagliari,is a stretch to the limits of the Tyrrhenian Sea on which overlooks the southern coast of Sardinia. And 'bordered on the east by Capo Carbonara and from the Cabbages and west from Cape Spartivento. The coast is partly sandy partly rocky but with a little jagged profile with few inlets.

         

 

The beaches are located mainly in the most interior while reefs are located in the most external. At the heart of the Gulf promontory overlooking the St. Elias, an integral part of the territory of Cagliari. The only port facilities for the transport of goods and passengers is to Cagliari, a natural inlet overlooking the old town.Other ports are the artificial near Port Channel,s'inoltra that in the Pond of Cagliari, equipped for the international transport of containers in the port of the oil refinery of Sarroch, actually consists of a pier for docking tankers. Small ports are located in various sites on the coast for recreational boating, among which the most important is Marina Piccola, situated on the eastern part of the promontory of Sant'Elia. The entire coastline is dotted with tourist or residential settlements that are fractions belonging to the municipalities of Domus de Maria, Pula, Villa San Pietro, Sarroch, Capoterra, Cagliari, Quartu Sant’Elena, Sinnai, Solanas  e  Villassimius. Cagliari is the only town that overlooks the bay, while other centres are located a few kilometres from the coast. The most popular beaches are located in Chia, Santa Margherita di Pula, La Maddalena, Cagliari, Quartu Sant’Elena, Flumini di Quartu, Foxi, Torre delle Stelle, Solanas, Geremeas e Capo Carbonara. Several small beaches are scattered along the coast in small coves that alternate with stretches of cliff. The most important length and number of visitors is the Poetto,a strip natural 8 km separating from the Gulf Molentargius pond in front of the city of Cagliari and Quartu Sant'Elena. The cliffs are composed by schistose rock formations or granite that stretch at the massive Sulcis west and the east Sarrabus and limestone promontory in the middle of Sant'Elia.The industrial most important are the oil refinery in Sarroch Saras and the adjacent petrochemical plant.
